Dougie Mac has introduced two fresh fundraising events for 2024, to go alongside its popular Bike Ride and Midnight to Sunrise Walk events. The brand new 10K Run and Colour Dash, both on Saturday 13th April, will offer a new challenge to local runners while also providing people of all ages with the chance to fundraise for the hospice.
The 10K Run, sponsored by St. Modwen Homes is a chip-timed event that will start and finish at World of Wedgwood, offering participants a wonderful route through the local countryside. This event presents runners with the chance to support the hospice through fundraising, with early bird registration prices beginning at £20 and later increasing to £25. Alternatively, runners can opt for the £40 registration fee with no expectations of fundraising.
Meanwhile, the brand new Colour Dash event offers individuals of every age an opportunity to support the hospice while having lots of fun. Supported by BeeActive, this event is a 1K run at Wedgwood Cricket Club, where participants kick off by playfully tossing powdered paint at each other before continuing to get covered at various paint stations around the course. Registration starts at only £8 for under 16s and £10 for adults. Additionally, participants can choose, for an extra £5 fee, to access an inflatable ‘2-part Energy Assault Course’.
Deborah Vickers, Head of Business and Community Fundraising, said, “We’re thrilled about our two new events. We’re hoping that our 10K run will appeal to keen runners looking to improve their race times and also those who want to set themselves a running challenge to support Dougie Mac.
“We’ve never had an event quite like the Colour Dash before. It gives our youngest supporters the chance to take part in our of our fundraising events and we’re inviting everyone to join in, embrace the mess and enjoy a fabulous, fun events. It promises to be a fantastic experience, all while supporting the hospice.”
Both events will take place on Saturday 13th April. Anyone wishing to find out more or sign up to either of these events to support Dougie Mac, can go to the website at www.dougiemac.org.uk/events
