Bride-to-Be Finds Dream Wedding Dress at Dougie Mac Shop

After scouring bridal boutiques and online dress shops, bride-to-be Ginty Holmes was beginning to think her dream vintage wedding dress didn’t exist. That was until she visited Dougie Mac’s Occasion wear shop in Newcastle and found the dress of her dreams.

“I was really struggling to find a wedding dress that I really loved. My sister-in-law suggested I try Dougie Mac’s Occasion wear shop in Newcastle as she’d spotted lots of gorgeous dresses last time she visited. Open-minded, I began browsing the rails and picked a few dresses that caught my eye.

“Julia, the shop supervisor was absolutely brilliant. She had prior experience working in bridal shops and helped me try on a few dresses; however, nothing felt quite right. After listening to my wedding plans and the vintage theme we were going for; Julia said she had the most perfect dress for me.

“It was a beautiful lace dress from the 1960’s with layers upon layers of beautiful tulle at the front. I tried it on and fell in love – I’d found my dress! Julia and the team even helped me accessorise so I could get a full picture. I loved that the dress had been so well cared for and I would be able to help fund the wonderful work the hospice does.

“I still wanted to put my own stamp on the dress, so I had it altered slightly to widen the neckline and shorten the length. I also added a green belt to match our colour scheme. I’m so glad I gave the Dougie Mac shop a chance – the advice and experience from the team was absolutely brilliant!

“The hospice provided wonderful care to my father-in-law, Peter before he passed away and we have since been so grateful for everything they did for us. Our family are incredibly supportive of Dougie Mac and I’m so pleased to have been able to continue that support through the purchase of my wedding dress.”
